Sue Spray
Award Winning Woodworker  Artisan
The Types of Woodworking Sue Does
and How She Learned to Do It
"I enjoy all aspects of woodworking and am accomplished in
boat building, fine furniture, cabinetry, toys and face plate
lathe work.  In addition to canoes and kayaks, I build furniture and
accessories on a commissioned basis.  From being one of the first girls
allowed in woodworking class in middle school in the 1970s to having
attended classes, seminars, presentations and one-on-one training  and
communication with some of today’s most respected woodworkers (They
include Philip Greene, Sam Maloof, Frank Klauz,Ian Kirby, Sandor
Nagyszalanczy, David Marks, Russ Filbeck and others) I have gathered
much knowledge and skill over the years.   I read numerous
woodworking publications and have an extensive woodworking library.
I have never had any formal training in woodworking and consider
myself self taught.  I have been told numerous times that I have a
unique talent.  I am simply fanatical about woodworking and consider
woodworking to be an integral part of me."
